Manuel
Babbitt
May 11, 1972 — Dec 8, 2025
Manuel "Manny" Babbitt Jr. of Wareham, Massachusetts, was born on the 11th day of May, 1972, and departed from this world on December 8th, 2025. Manny was a man of extraordinary talent with a heart as warm as the ovens he worked with. His life was a testament to the saying, "Cooking is love made visible." His culinary masterpieces not only filled the stomachs but also the hearts of those fortunate enough to partake in them.
Manny's career as a chef was not just a job, it was his passion, his calling. He loved to recreate his favorite dishes for his friends & family. You always knew when Manny was home creating something amazing because Led Zeppelin would be blaring through the walls to greet you. Manny was also a self taught artist - creating landscapes, people, cartoons and of course fish! He could draw anything and everything that he could imagine.
He will be remembered best for his love of fishing often found on Cape Cod Canal or even a small boat on a lake. You could even find him just standing on the water's edge. Anyone who knew him cannot forget the way he could tell a story. He was passionate, expressive, vivid and full of life - and more than likely it was a fishing story.
Manny's legacy is carried on by his children Manuel Babbitt III , Gavin Babbitt, Malina Babbitt & their mother Kara (Edwards) Babbitt His mother, Lorraine Babbitt, and his sisters Jude Babbitt and Dawn (Babbitt) Douglas. He is preceded in death by his father, Manuel Babbitt Sr. Manny was a loving uncle & cousin to many.
His memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones. In lieu of funeral services we are having a celebration of life January 16th, 2026 from 4:00PM - 7:00PM at the May Flower Masonic lodge, 46 South Main St in Middleboro, Massachusetts.
Please share your memories of Manny and upload photos to the memorial page, so we can collectively celebrate his life, his craft, and his enduring impact on all of us.
