Manuel
Cabral
Mar 12, 1929 — Apr 7, 2025
We celebrate the life of Manuel Jacinto Cabral who was born on March 12, 1929, in São Miguel, Azores, Portugal. He left us to join his parents, Jose Cabral and Maria Pedro, on April 7, 2025. Manuel was a man of few words, but his actions spoke volumes about his character. His love for his homeland was evident in the way he cherished every memory of São Miguel and passed on the rich traditions of the Azores to his son, Jose. As Aristotle once said, "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit." Manuel embodied this quote, consistently striving to live a life of excellence and integrity.
Manuel spent his life in Westport, Massachusetts, a place he proudly called home. His days were filled with the hard work of maintaining his home, tending to his garden, and caring for his family. He had a quiet strength that was most evident in his unwavering commitment to his loved ones.
In keeping with Manuel's wishes, he will be buried in his homeland of Portugal, in the family cemetery. He had a deep connection to his roots, and it was his heartfelt desire to rest in the place that shaped him into the man he became. His son, Jose, survives him and will continue to honor his legacy. As the poet, Rumi, beautifully articulated, "Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes. Because for those who love with heart and soul there is no such thing as separation."
We invite you to share your memories of Manuel and upload photos to his memorial page. His life was a testament to the power of quiet strength and unwavering commitment to family. Let us celebrate his life and honor his legacy by sharing our memories of this remarkable man.
