Born on December 4, 1944, in the beautiful island of Azores, Portugal, Maria carried with her the vibrant spirit of her birthplace throughout her life. Maria was a beacon of strength and resilience, facing life's challenges with grace and determination. As Helen Keller once said, "Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it." Maria embodied this sentiment beautifully.

Maria spent her life nurturing her loved ones with unabashed devotion. Her love story with her husband, Orlando DeMedeiros, was one for the ages.
