FALL RIVER... Maria D. (Miranda) Moniz, 91, of Fall River passed away on December 29, 2020 at Southpointe Rehabilitation. She was the loving wife of the late Charles Moniz. Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Joao V. "John" and Arthemis (Carvalho) Miranda and had been a lifelong resident of this city. Mrs. Moniz was a communicant of Santo Christo Parish and had worked as a cook for the Fall River School Department for over 40 years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her three children, Charles J Moniz of Fall River, Joseph Moniz and his wife Renee Moniz of Fall River and Matthew Moniz of Fall River. She was also the grandmother of five, and a great grandmother of three. Funeral Mass to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 9 AM at Santo Christo Parish, Columbia St. Fall River. Burial will be private.
