FALL RIVER... Maria "Mary" (Gouveia) Tisdale, 83, of Fall River passed away October 24, 2014 at Charlton Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. She was the loving wife of Armand "Ray" Tisdale of Fall River. Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Manuel R. and Maria C. (Pacheco) Gouveia and had been a lifelong resident of the city's Flint Village. Mrs. Tisdale was a communicant of Espirito Santo Church, Fall River. She enjoyed playing Bingo, going to casinos and out to eat, her beloved cat Rusty, and spending time with her family and friends. Along with her husband, survivors include 2 daughters: Paula Baptista of Freetown and Elaine Tisdale Asselin of Fall River, a son: Raymond Tisdale of Fall River, a grandson: Robert Pacheco, a half-sister: Helena Soares of England, a half-brother: Paulo Gouveia of Fall River, several nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Almedina Remigio and Altino Gouveia. Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Tuesday at 8 AM from SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant St. Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM at Espirito Santo Church, 311 Alden St. Fall River. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Monday from 5-8 PM.
