Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of Maria Ferreira Vasconcellos, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Born on November 16, 1977, in São Miguel, Portugal, Maria was a vibrant soul who made every moment count. Just as the Portuguese saying goes, "A vida é curta demais para ser pequena," Maria's life, though short, was anything but small. She lived generously, loved deeply, and cared immensely.

Maria possessed a heart full of kindness and a spirit that was infectious to those around her. She spent her days creating warmth and joy, whether it was through her love for cooking traditional Portuguese dishes, or when she was at her happiest, surrounded by family at the beach. As a devoted wife of over 25 years to Roberto Ferreira, a doting mother to her children, Ana and Tiago, and an adored grandmother to her grandson August, Maria lived her life centered around her family. She was a beacon of love and laughter, known for her sense of humor and her unwavering commitment to helping others. Her life was a testament to the Portuguese proverb, "O amor é a única coisa que cresce quando se divide," love is the only thing that grows when it is shared.

Maria is survived by her husband, Roberto Ferreira; her children, Ana Ferreira and Tiago Ferreira; her son-in-law, Phanat Loeu; and her grandson, August. She also leaves behind her siblings, Luís Vasconcelos (Carla), António Vasconcelos (Nélia), João Vasconcelos, Susete Lourenço (José), and Silvia Pedro (Paulo), along with many nieces and nephews. Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Ilda Ferreira and Luis Vasconcelos.
