The Man, the Myth, the Legend

Mark Anthony Vital, 69 years old from Westport, MA (originally from Fall River), passed away on October 8, 2026, at Charlton Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

Mark was a carpenter by trade and a talented drummer. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing in bands and sharing his love of music with others. Mark also loved camping, NASCAR, golf, and Gooseberry Beach. Adventurous and outspoken, he was also hilarious and quick-witted, bringing laughter and joy to those around him.

He leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, music, and love that will never fade.

Mark leaves behind his wife, Gail Oliveira Vital; daughter, Erin Vital; brothers, Chris and David Vital; niece, Christina Vital; nephews, David Matthew Vital, Jr. and Jake Moniz; grandchildren, Janae Silvia and Noah Carriero; and his beloved dog, Charlie.

In keeping with Mark’s wishes, he will be cremated.

Friends and Family are cordially invited to attend a public memorial visitation which will be held on Monday, October 19, 2026 from 09:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the Southcoast Funeral Home, inside of the Ferreira Chapel, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, MA.

The funeral home offers a lighted parking lot which is available on the corner of Boutwell and Pleasant Street, (opposite corner of the funeral home) and our facility has a handicap-accessible ramp and entrance.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Veterans Association.

We invite all who knew and loved Mark to share their memories and upload photos to his memorial page. Each memory shared will serve as a testament to the beautiful life he lived, and the legendary man he was.

Services are humbly entrusted into the care of Southcoast Funeral Homes at Ferreira Chapel "Celebrating A Life Well Lived"
