FALL RIVER ...Maryellen Theresa (Buttimer) Luz, 67, a resident of Fall River for the past 2 years, previously lived in Escondido, CA for 24 years passed away Monday June 6, 2011 after a long illness. She was the widow of Joseph C. Luz. She was born in Dorchester, MA a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Buttimer and raised in Fall River. She was employed by Chase Curtain for 20 years and while living in California she cleaned houses. Mrs. Luz enjoyed crocheting, poetry and gardening. Survivors include her companion: George Tremblay of Escondido CA, a son: John "Jack" Luz and his wife Sandy Bento of Fall River, 2 daughters: Kim Luz and Kerry Luz and her fiance Anthony Gonsalves all of Fall River, 5 grandchildren: Jerel Chicharro and his wife Tara, Eddy, Jordan, Chelsey, and Aaron and 2 great grandchildren: Karma and Ahrianna Chicharro. Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Friday, at 9:00 AM from the SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, 529 Eastern Ave., Fall River. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5-8:00PM.
