FALL RIVER... Matthew Moniz, 61, of Fall River passed away April 9, 2023, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Charles J. and Maria D. (Miranda) Moniz. Mr. Moniz spent all of his professional life working for Duro Textiles. He was an avid pigeon racer and belonged to the Fall River Pigeon Club and the North Tiverton Club. He loved sports, especially the New England Patriots and Boston Bruins and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his sons: Christopher Gossic and his wife Nicole of Seekonk and Richard Gossic of Fall River; his brothers: Charles Moniz and Joseph Moniz, both of Fall River; 2 grandchildren: Kason and Nia; along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Friday, April 14, 2023, at 9 AM from South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant Street Fall River, MA 02723 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Santo Christo Church, Columbia Street Fall River. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5 - 8 PM.
