On May 20, 2025, the world bid a heartfelt farewell to an extraordinary woman, Maureen Virginia Silvia, born on September 10, 1946, in Fall River, Massachusetts. Known for her empathetic nature, compassionate demeanor, and witty charm, Maureen brightened the lives of many around her. Her nurturing spirit always had her putting others before herself, a trait that endeared her to everyone she met. As Helen Keller once said, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart," and Maureen Virginia personified this sentiment through her actions.

Maureen led a fulfilling life, filled with love, laughter, and a few surprises. She had a unique sense of humor, often catching people off guard with her clever jokes. Her catchphrase, "oh honey, that's so funny," is something that will forever bring a smile to those who knew her. She was a resident of Swansea from 1990-2022 before moving to Berkley. She graduated from Somerset High School and had a prosperous career as an insurance worker. Despite her professional achievements, her most cherished role was that of a grandmother to her beloved granddaughters, Hannah and Kylee. The trio often enjoyed getting their nails done together, creating memories that will forever be cherished.

A woman of simple pleasures, Maureen loved watching Hallmark movies and the Lifetime channel. She found joy in playing casino gambling games on her phone, a hobby that showcased her competitive spirit. She also cherished spending time with her son Brandon's two Golden Retrievers, Goober and Marky, who always brought a smile to her face. Her love for Diet Coke and coffee was well-known, and these small delights added to the tapestry of her colorful life.

Maureen Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Andrea Leonard, and her daughter, Andrea Webster. Her life was a testament to the power of love, care, and compassion, attributes her son fondly remembers her by. As we mourn the physical absence of Maureen Virginia, her spirit will continue to live on in our hearts and minds.

Maureen is survived by her son Brandon Webster and partner Jessica of East Freetown, and her two granddaughters Hannah and Kylee.

Public visitation will be held on Saturday, 24 May 2025 from 02:00 PM - 04:00 PM at the Southcoast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, Massachusetts. A celebration of Maureen's life will follow at 04:00 PM at the same venue presided over by Chaplain and Life Celebrant Ines Bates.
