NEW BEDFORD... Michael J. "Scrumpy" Botelho, 56, of New Bedford passed away May 29, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the companion of Melodie Marshall with whom he had spent the last 29 years of his life. He was raised in Fairhaven, a son of Theresa (Belli) Botelho of Colorado and the late Frank Botelho. He moved to New Bedford in 1994. Mr. Botelho had worked for Shaw's Supermarket in the meat department for 25 years. He was an avid New England Patriot's fan and enjoyed seafood. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family. Along with his companion and mother, survivors include his children: Bea Botelho and Colby Botelho, both of New Bedford; his sister, Debbie Moniz of Texas; his brothers: Jimmy Botelho and Bobby Botelho, both of New Bedford; along with several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Tony Botelho. There are no services scheduled at this time.
