PROVIDENCE, RI...Michael D. Hackett, 41, of Providence, RI passed away unexpectedly Saturday 16, 2012 at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in Fall River, he was a son of Marilyn (Mello) Lake of Rochester and the late David S. Hackett and had been living in Providence for the past 5 years. Mr. Hackett worked as a machine specialist for A.M.I in Middleboro. He was a 1989 graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School in Fall River, and loved the Boston Celtics, football and his dogs. Along with his mother, survivors include a daughter: Rozlynd M. Hackett of Fall River, a son: Jayden S. Hackett of Providence, his former wife: Sarah A. Oliver of Fall River, his companion: Jennifer Garrett of Providence, a brother: Greg E. Hackett of Berkley, CA, his maternal grandmother: Madeline Mello, a step mother: Janice Hackett, a step-father Larry Lake, and an uncle: Gerald Mello. Memorial visitation to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Wednesday, June 20, 2012 from 6-7:45 PM followed by a memorial service at 7:45 PM at South Coast Funeral Home.
