Its with profound sadness we announce that Michael "Mikey" Paiva, age 37, passed away on August 14th, 2026, 5 days before his 38th birthday, who left us suddenly after a brief battle with cancer and pneumonia.

His passing has left his family and community in profound shock as his illness progressed within a week of diagnosis. Though Mikey’s body could no longer fight, his resilient spirit and the love he shared will not be forgotten.

Mike had a deep compassion for life. He was an avid sports enthusiast. Alongside his love for sports, Mike was a true history buff, he possessed a wealth of knowledge and loved nothing more than engaging in discussing history with anyone that would listen. Mike’s enthusiasm was contagious and had a rare gift to make the past come alive.

Michael is survived by his loving parents, Peter and Dorothy Paiva; siblings, Christopher, Jeffrey, and his sister Jennifer; and his son, Jason Michael Paiva; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Michael was predeceased by his grandparents, John and Marie Jordan, Jose Sr. and Rosaria Paiva, and his beloved cousin Kyle Paiva are waiting for Michael as they are opening the gates of Heaven to welcome him with open arms.

A memorial Mass in Mikey's honor will be announced in the coming weeks.
