Nereida Rivera, a radiant beacon of love, warmth, and resilience, born on September 24, 1956 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, peacefully completed her earthly journey on February 27, 2026. Nereida, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, made her home in Fall River, Massachusetts, where she lived a full and vibrant life. Her home, which she maintained with great pride and joy, was always a haven of comfort, laughter, and unconditional love for her family. As Maya Angelou aptly said, "I sustain myself with the love of family."

Nereida's greatest accomplishment and most profound joy came from her role as a matriarch. She was blessed with three children, Sandra, Jackeline, and Victor, who were the center of her world. Her love further multiplied with the arrival of her grandchildren: Nelson, Kelvin, Itzamarie, Ashly, Wilquline, Yanqueliz, Armani, Kimberly, and Aliyah. The joy in her life knew no bounds when she became a great-grandmother to Ayden, Tyrel, Adrian, Michael Jailany, Dior, Mickey, KK, Jaylene, Aliana, Anelys, and Aliani. Each new addition to the family was a testament to the love that Nereida nurtured and the legacy she built.

Nereida was predeceased by her loving parents, Alejandro Rivera and Luz Arce, and grandson Eduardo. Nereida's memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those she loved and those who loved her. As an old proverb says, "When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure." Nereida indeed leaves behind a treasure trove of memories filled with her love, her laughter, and her indomitable spirit.

Nereida Rivera, un ejemplo radiante de amor, calidez y resiliencia, nació el 24 de septiembre de 1956 en Ponce, Puerto Rico, y concluyó su vida terrenal en paz el 27 de febrero de 2026. Nereida, madre, abuela y bisabuela devota, se estableció en Fall River, Massachusetts, donde vivió una vida plena y vibrante. Su hogar, que mantuvo con gran orgullo y alegría, siempre fue un remanso de consuelo, risas y amor incondicional para su familia. Como bien dijo Maya Angelou: "Me sustento con el amor de la familia".

El mayor logro y la mayor alegría de Nereida provinieron de su rol como matriarca. Fue bendecida con tres hijos: Sandra, Jackeline y Víctor, quienes fueron el centro de su mundo. Su amor se multiplicó aún más con la llegada de sus nietos: Nelson, Kelvin, Itzamarie, Ashly, Wilquline, Yanqueliz, Armani, Kimberly y Aliyah. La alegría en su vida no tuvo límites cuando se convirtió en bisabuela de Ayden, Tyrel, Adrian, Michael Jailany, Dior, Mickey, KK, Jaylene, Aliana, Anelys y Aliani. Cada nueva incorporación a la familia era un testimonio del amor que Nereida cultivaba y del legado que forjó.

A Nereida le precedieron en la muerte sus queridos padres, Alejandro Rivera y Luz Arce, y su nieto Eduardo. Su recuerdo quedará grabado para siempre en los corazones de quienes la amó y de quienes la amaron. Como dice un viejo proverbio: «Cuando alguien a quien amas se convierte en un recuerdo, el recuerdo se convierte en un tesoro». Nereida, sin duda, deja un tesoro de recuerdos llenos de su amor, su risa y su espíritu indomable.

El velatorio público se llevará a cabo en la Capilla Ferreira el lunes 9 de marzo de 2026 a las 5:00pm en la Southcoast Funeral Homes, ubicada en 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, Massachusetts, 02723.
