Patrick J. Murphy III, affectionately known as P.J., passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 20, 2026. He was the beloved son of the late Patrick and Pamela Murphy.

Born in Fall River, he spent his early years in Somerset and later Westport where he enjoyed fishing, swimming and skateboarding, which became a lifelong sport.

A graduate of Durfee High School, he was employed as a carpenter and landscaper with a specialty in stonewalls and walkways. A proud Catholic, he practiced his faith unconditionally.

His greatest gifts in life were his two girls, Ireland and Mariella. They were his pride and joy. Besides his children, P.J. leaves behind his former wife Kristin Murphy; his sister Heather Lepage and his nephew Murphy Lepage; his aunts Luce Murphy and Donna Carroll; his uncle Richard Michaud and his cousins and their families and cherished friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, godparents and aunt and uncle. They will welcome him home to his heavenly reward.

Friends and Family are cordially invited to attend a public visitation on Friday, October 2, 2026, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM, A Funeral Home Service will follow at 12:00 PM presided over by Father Michael Racine, Burial will follow at Beech Grove Cemetery, 974 Main Rd, Westport, MA 02790 at 01:15 PM.

We invite all who knew Patrick to share their memories and upload photos to his memorial page. It is through these shared memories that PJ's legacy will continue to live on.

The funeral home offers a lighted parking lot which is available on the corner of Boutwell and Pleasant Street, (opposite corner of the funeral home) and our facility has a handicap-accessible ramp and entrance.
