Obituary

Robert Leon Brisson, known affectionately as Bob to his friends and family, passed away on May 29, 2026 surrounded by loved ones. Bob was born on August 7, 1947, in Fall River, Massachusetts, the place he called home throughout his life. Bob was a humorous and intelligent man, making him a joy to be around.

Bob skipped the 7th grade because of his high scores in math and they didn't have enough desks in his current classroom. Bob graduated from Monsignor Prevost High School in 1964 at the age of 16. After high school, he was drafted and enlisted in the United States Air Force where he fixed the Doppler Radar on helicopters during the Vietnam War. His experience during the war led to a long and successful career as a computer tech specialist for Storage Tek and Sun Microsystems up until his retirement.

Bob had a passion for life and lived it to the fullest. He was an avid golfer and spent many years playing at Pine Valley in Rehobeth with family and friends. In the winter, he was an active participant and long-time treasurer of the Fall River Ski Club. He also enjoyed boating, driving, dining out, watching sports, and he had a special fondness for a good western movie. Most importantly, he was a doting Pepere who cherished spending time with his grandsons, Henry and Jack.

He was a loving husband to Maureen for 52 years and a devoted father to his son, Jeremy (wife Carla). His love for them was boundless and their strong bond was a testament to his commitment to his family. In addition to his wife and son, he is survived by his sister, Denise Lima, He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his grandsons, Henry and Jack Brisson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Viola Brisson.

The public visitation will take place on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 9:00 am at the Southcoast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, Massachusetts. A Committal Service with Military Honors will follow at 12:00pm at Oak Grove Cemetary.
