DARTMOUTH... Robert R. Vanasse, age 77, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023 Born in Acushnet, Robert was son of the late Raymond and Viola (Cadorette) Vanasse. Throughout his life, he lived in the New Bedford area. Robert served his nation in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Following his service, he worked as a forklift operator for Teledyne Rodney Metal until his retirement in 2011. Robert was known for his love of reading, especially history. He enjoyed painting models in his free time and was also known for his love of food. Survivors include: daughters, Sandra Belli of South Dartmouth, MA, and Patricia, her husband Kevin Shaw of Fairhaven, MA ; sister, Claire Mailoux of New Bedford, MA; 3 grandchildren; Jacob Landyn Logan and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, the late Richard Vanasse and the late Rochelle Hawk. Also the late Paul Mailoux, brother in-law. Graveside service will be held at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave, Buzzards Bay, MA 02542 on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 10:15am. Please arrive 15 minutes early.
