It is with gratitude for a life well-lived that we honor the memory of Roger Durette, who graced this world on December 1, 1933, in Fall River, MA, and departed from it on September 17, 2025. Roger was a man of extraordinary resilience, a beacon of love and compassion, and a source of joy and humor to all who knew him. A loving husband, a thoughtful father, a devoted grandfather, and a loyal friend, his radiant personality and gentle spirit left an indelible mark on countless hearts.

Roger spent his professional life in the retail industry, finding joy in the simple act of service. After a brief retirement, he continued serving his community by working at Lacava car parts, where he was cherished by his colleagues. His resilience was evident in the face of health issues, where he maintained a positive outlook, a testament to his strength of character.

Roger's compassion extended beyond his professional life, manifesting in his personal life as a loving husband of 67 years. His face lit up whenever his wife, Mariette, entered the room, a testament to their timeless love. He was a doting father to his daughter, Claire Stone, of Somerset, MA, and his late son, Jeffrey Durette, of Swansea, MA. His love for his family was further reflected in his role as a devoted grandfather to his three grandchildren, Kyle Stone, Courtney Durette, and Ashley Durette, and as a great-grandfather to Sierra and Axel. He also leaves behind his two cats who meant the world to him, Oreo and Noel.

Roger was a man who understood the essence of life. He lived by the principle that true wealth is not material but lies in the happiness and memories we create with our loved ones. His love for word searches was well known, and his family ensured he was always stocked with books. Roger was a beacon of hope in a world that often forgets the importance of decency, fairness, and respect.

Roger was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force.

He was predeceased by his seven siblings: Norman, Raymond, George, Pete, Irene, Gilbert, and Loretta, and his parents Lorenzo and Alberta Durette. He is survived by his wife, Mariette Durette, his daughter Claire Stone, and his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In keeping with Roger's wishes his visitation and Catholic Funeral Home Service will be private.
