Ruth
Vaillancourt
Oct 10, 1931 — Mar 15, 2026
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Ruth Vaillancourt, a remarkable woman of resilience, kindness, and unmeasurable warmth. She was the loving and devoted wife of the late Armand J. Vaillancourt. Born to Frank and Georgelina Souza in the heart of Fall River, MA, USA on October 10, 1931, Ruth was a beacon of love and generosity in the lives of all who knew her. This extraordinary woman lived her life with grace and fortitude.
Ruth was a lifelong resident of Fall River, Massachusetts, where she filled her home with love, laughter, and song. As a devoted homemaker, Ruth's joy was found in the simple, everyday moments that made her life so rich. She had a knack for turning the mundane into the extraordinary, often found singing while cleaning the house - a woman who made even chores seem like a celebration of life. Ruth was a nurturing soul who found her greatest happiness in spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. Ruth was a devoted member of her church, Christ Temple where her boundless love and kindness extended beyond her family.
Ruth is survived by her children, Ronald Vaillancourt, Michael (Gabriel) Vaillancourt, Bobby Vaillancourt, and her three loving daughters, Colleen Donovan, Susan (Charles) Bouchard, and Sandra MacMurray.
She is preceded in death by her sons, the late Armand, Donald and Paul Vaillancourt. She also leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.
Friends and family are cordially invited to attend a public visitation which will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, at Christ Temple, 1198 Fish Road, Tiverton from 09:00 AM – 10:00 AM, The funeral service to celebrate Ruth's life will follow at 10:30 AM at the same location. Ruth's life will be commemorated at a committal service at 12:30 PM at Notre Dame Cemetery and Mausoleums, 1540 Stafford Road, Fall River, Massachusetts, 02721.
As we remember Ruth, we encourage friends and family to share their memories and upload photos to the memorial page. Ruth's life was a tapestry woven with threads of love, kindness, and compassion, and your stories will help to keep her beautiful spirit alive in our hearts.
