It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Sheila Saxton, a light extinguished too soon, on February 26, 2026. Born on November 19, 1951, Sheila was a native of the Bronx, New York, and spent the latter part of her life in Fall River, Massachusetts. She was a woman of resilient faith, a devoted Jehovah's Witness who found solace and strength in the words of Isaiah 41:10, "Do not be afraid. I am with you. Do not be anxious, for I am your God. I will fortify you, yes, I will help you."

Sheila was a pillar of strength, love, and selflessness, dedicating her life to the well-being and education of children. Her career in childcare was more than a job; it was her passion and calling. The hundreds of children she cared for over the years were treated as if they were her own, each one carrying a piece of her wisdom and warmth into the world. Outside of her professional life, Sheila nourished her soul through writing poetry and immersing herself in music. Her poems, much like her, were filled with empathy, love, and a deep understanding of the human spirit.

Sheila's love was not confined to her profession. She was a loving mother to her daughter, Nicole Saxton, and a caring aunt to her niece, Sureatha Coleman. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Hattie Saxton. Her love and legacy live on in her family, who will remember her as a beacon of strength, warmth, and unwavering faith.

In the words of Jehovah, "I have made you. I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you." (Isaiah 46:4). Sheila now rests in peace, carried and sustained by her faith.
