Obituary

Steven P. DeCosta of Somerset,68, passed away on June 19, 2025, with his family by his side, after a long courageous battle where he always tried to comfort his family standing as a true testament of his character.

Steven is survived by his wife of 38 years Sandy, Sons Ryan and wife Cristina William and fiancé Jessica, the son of the late Antoine DeCosta Jr and late Doris (Boisvert) DeCosta, brother of the late David and wife Lisa, brother Michael and wife Michelle, brother Matthew and wife Tammy, several nephews and nieces.

Steven was employed at Brayton Point Power plant as a heavy equipment operator. Among things he enjoyed in life were riding his Harley, watching movies, and having fun. Steve had an affinity for watching Phantom Gourmet with his wife and then going on road trips to the restaurants in person. This was a source of great joy in their lives and many fun memories were made. He enjoyed gardening with his wife, especially when it came time to harvest his tomatoes. Having a drink with his son or friends, spending time with his family and making everyone laugh brought great joy to him

Steve was a fantastic husband, father and friend. He was always there with a joke, a simple ride, or anything that would pop up in life. He had a listening ear and comforting smile ready to give life-changing advice or simply listen when needed. He always knew how to make people feel better after speaking with him. Giving others comfort in their life was never done for accolades or praise, but because he was a great man with an even better soul. To have him in your life made yours much better. His kindness and generosity were truly limitless. To have known him is to love him, words cannot express how much he will be missed.

Steven's funeral services are private.
