Terrence P. Leary, 89, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2025 at St. Anne's Hospital with family in attendance.

Terry was the husband of the late Charlotte Leary with whom he shared 64 years of marriage.

He was the beloved father of Michael Leary, Eileen Leary Sanford, Kathleen Paquette(Don) , the late Ann Leary and Timothy Leary(Cheryl).

He leaves behind 13 grandchildren: Alexei and Sergei Leary, Elizabeth Jackson, Scott, Charlotte and Katharine Sanford, Jason Paquette, Lindsey Mackey, Bethany O 'Toole, Jessica Jackson, Joshua Morimoto and Owen and Allison Leary and 8 great-grandchildren: Ethan, Gianna, and Ayden Paquette, Bryce and Catalina Mackey, Graham and Cormac O'Toole and Cole Sanford as well as 2 cousins: Mark Leary and Kathleen Wood.

Terry also leaves his in-laws Donald and Shirley Sullivan, Jack Sullivan, Jean Sullivan and Alice Sullivan as well as many nieces and nephews. Terry grew up on Peck St. in the South End of Fall River with his parents Patrick and Elizabeth Leary and a series of dogs all named Muggzy.

An adored only child, his mother would tell people that " He came to the right place!" His father was his best friend. Terry graduated from St Patrick's School in Fall River and Monsignor Coyle High School in Taunton. He spent 6 years in the National Guard and some of his favorite stories are of the time he served on Cape Cod during Hurricane Carol in 1954. Terry spent his whole career at NUSC as an electronics technician, happily retiring in 1994.

His hobbies included, fishing, meteorology, fish keeping , and spending Saturday night(after 5 pm Mass) with Charlotte at The Newport Grand. He was a Red Sox fan going back to the 1940s when he first attended a game at Fenway with his father.

He spent thousands of hours coaching his children's baseball and basketball teams for Tiverton and the Holy Ghost CYO. He always bought his baseball teams a soda after the games whether they won or lost. His sense of humor was legendary and his many hilarious sayings will live forever in his family's memory.

A devout Catholic from his altar boy days at St. Patrick's Church, his celebration mass was held Saturday April 26th at St. Teresa's Church followed by interment at Pocasset Cemetery.

He will be missed every day.
