FALL RIVER... Yhonna M. (McCants) Barnes, 63, of Fall River, MA passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, December 6, 2019. She was born in Newport, RI on February 10,1956. She was the daughter of the late Reuben Sr, and Alice (Coriander) McCants and had lived in Fall River for the last 18 years. Yhonna was a model for RHODE ISLAND MODEL AGENCY INC. in WARWICK, RI. She enjoyed caring for her grandchildren, & great grandchildren, being around family & friends and cooking for all. Survivors include 4 daughters: Nakitta Jones- Obaseki of East Providence, RI, Yhonna Jones of Middletown, RI, Alexandra Jones Mercado and Alexis Jones of Fall River, MA; 2 brothers: Robert McCants of Fall River, MA, Ralph Jackson of Laurel, MD; 2 sisters: Ervine Brown of Richmond, VA, and Paula Jean Trower of Atlanta, GA; her longtime companion: Willie Mack of Fall River; 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family. She was the sister of the late Reuben McCants Jr, Anthony McCants, Sandy Trower, and Paulette Delaney. Services to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Friday, December 13, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at the SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, MA. Calling hours will be Friday from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. prior to the service. Private burial.
