With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Yong Son Gennock (née Lee), a beacon of light in the lives of many. Born on November 25, 1955, in Seoul, South Korea, Yong spent her childhood years filled with curiosity and wonder. She carried her spirit of discovery with her to North Kingstown, Rhode Island, where she made her home.

Yong was an extraordinary woman who had a love for life and an unmatched resilience. Her journey from South Korea to Rhode Island was a testament to her strength and determination. She created a fulfilling life for herself, working as a switchboard operator in a hotel.

Yong was widowed in her later years, and although she felt the loss deeply, she continued to find joy and purpose in her life. She cherished the relationships she had with her friends and family, and her home was always filled with laughter and love. Her legacy will be carried on by those who loved her and were touched by her kindness, strength, and inspiring spirit.
